Has anyone noticed any problem with partitioning on the latest Linux
(Red Hat derivatives) systems.
On the older distros I used to do my own partitioning thru fdisk and I
used mainly primary partitions.
With the later distros this does not seem to be an option and the
automagic partitioning occurs (IIRC) and this uses extended partitions
not primary partitions.
On more than one occasion when I came to clear the hard drive and
re-install, the disk configuration tables seem to be corrupted and
partitions have been over-lapped.
This makes it impossible to remove some partitions. The only way I know
of repairing such disks is to run Disk Manager.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
