[H-GEN] CVS pserver troubles

Hi, I've just installed a CVS pserver (password authentication) and am 
having problems checking out modules.

I can log in and import modules from my workstation but I can't check out 
a module I just imported.
The error message I'm getting is:
# cvs -d :pserver:joshua at cvsserver.ussbris:/cvsroot co Test
cvs [server aborted]: Cannot check out files into the repository itself

Has anyone seen this before?
