confuzed.

I have tried this with no result, could you explain which of the above machines
is the remote workstation?

I have one machine i log into via telnet / ssh/ or rlogin 192.168.1.10

My machine at home is 192.168.1.150 (in this example) connected via ppp

I have similar setups on eth0 (192.168.16.10 = server) 192.168.16.8
is the workstation where i would like to run X programs on the server,
displayed on the workstation.

thanks in advance.
