I'm sure many of you have heard of the bug reported in the RedHat kernel by
Adam Todd. You can find an article at
http://australianit.com.au/common/storyPage/0,3811,633573%255E442,00.html
where he talks about it, and searching the Link Mailing List archives at
http://sunsite.anu.edu.au/link during April of 2000
and the aussie-isp at aussie.net mailing list archives at
http://archive.humbug.org.au/aussie-isp during April of 2000
Both my boss Terry Manderson and I have been in touch with various people, at
AusCERT, RedHat and other groups trying to find more information as we run
RedHat exclusively on all Intel based equipment.
Any information is of use. If I do find anything of interest, I'll past
it along to the mailing lists. A tcpdump or a stack trace from a compromised
machine would be wonderful.
