It almost certainly is not unless you are doing something pretty fancy.
For most purposes the memory really only affects colour depth...unless you are
doing some heafty gaming that might need processing.
2 Mb is enuff for most display colour depths and resolutions.
4 Mb would be heaps for 16 M colours at 1024 x 768
Since not many fancy games are available for Linux I would guess that you are
probably using less than 20% of your card's memory anyway.
