[H-GEN] SMB help please

it's ok...i found out what i was doing wrong.....and it doesn't make a hell
of a lot of sence realy.
i was typing something like....
smbmount "\\server\share" <passwd> -c 'mount /mnt' -U username -I
ip.ip.ip.ip
but when i typed the following it worked.....
smbmount "\\\server\share" <passwd> -c 'mount /mnt' -U username -I
ip.ip.ip.ip
strange...
can any1 explain this?
