From what I hear lnx4win is a fairly difficult way to install Linux:
getting started from inside Windows, and booting from a loop device is
more complicated than usual, and so the chance of kernel crashes at
bootup is proportionally higher.  This is a real shame considering the
target audience of novices.  

If Chris is able to help he'll probably be fine, but I think in
general I'd lean towards using a partition resizer and a standard
install.  (I know that doesn't help this guy.)
