Hi All,

I have recently upgraded (wipe and reinstall) from Mandrake 6.0 to Mandrake
7.0.2 (I was going to migrate to Debian 2.1r4 but I couldn't get kernel
compiles to work on 2.0.38 or 2.2.14 - so I gave up in dusgust :-). I
selected the "high security" option during install, and just noticed I
received the following Security Warning:

There is modifications for port listening on your machine :
- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 wdcax5-077.dialu:domain	*: LISTEN 3710/named
- Opened ports : udp 0 0 wdcax5-077.dialu:domain	*: LISTEN 3710/named
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 wdcax5-077.dialu:domain	*: LISTEN 3710/named
- Closed ports : udp 0 0 wdcax5-077.dialu:domain	*: LISTEN 3710/named

and another...

- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 *:linuxconf *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 *:auth *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 *:pop3 *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 *:telnet *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Opened ports : tcp 0 0 *:ftp *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 *:linuxconf *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 *:auth *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 *:pop3 *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 *:telnet *: LISTEN 3410/inetd
- Closed ports : tcp 0 0 *:ftp *: LISTEN 3410/inetd

I have ipchains running, and obviously have screwed something up with my
rules. Can anyone help me with this - I'd really like to know where I went
wrong.

Thanks,
Hilton Travis
