[H-GEN] Linux box won't boot up.

Hi all,

Recently i've had a problem with my linux gateway at home.  The problem is
that when I boot up (both from LILO and a boot disk) the system locks up.

When I boot from LILO I only get this far before it locks up:

LILO Loading Linux.......
Uncompressing Linux...

So I thought it may be the hard drive .. so I tried to boot up with a boot
disk (the boot disk works ok on another PC):

boot:
Loading ramdisk.......
Uncompressing Linux...

Then it hangs again .. at the same spot.  Would anyone have any idea on what
the problem may be?  Since the bootdisk also fails to boot i've ruled out
the bad hard drive, what else could it be?
