[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and
Unix-related topics. ]

Hi All,

I just recompiled a kernel (2.2.12 - it's been running for weeks & I had to
add msdos support for the floppy). I did all the relevant steps:

make menuconfig (blah blah)
make clean
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.12 (which is the
one mentioned in lilo.conf)

I get this message when booting:

Loading Linux..........
Uncompressing Linux...

ran out of input data

-- System halted

It sounds like the decompressor had a problem, has anyone seen this message
before?

Should I have done a make dep??

Cheers,

Josh Marshall
