how can you tell (apart from doing make menuconfig and checking) if 'always
defrag' is turned on?  I did make menuconfig but couldn't find the option
anywhere.  I'm using the default redhat6 kernel 2.2.5

I remember seeing it in the 2.0.35 kernel but that was the last time I
compiled a kernel and kept screwing up the modules.

Maybe its name is different in 2.2.x or it has been subsumed into another
feature?
