Yes, quite right, there is a difference.  I have heard of some people
running Enlightenment with KDE, but by default, KDE installs using KWM (KDE
Window Manager), it's own window manager.  Using KWM, KDE is a superset of
a window manager, much like GNOME.  It seeks to provide a complete desktop
environment (and succeeds admirably, IMO).

But to get back to the point, for the majority of people, KDE is synomous
with KWM, and if Stephen knew the difference (no insult intended, BTW), he
wouldn't be asking the list for help....
