Two quick points:
1) SGI 'special' features are almost always performance hacks. There will
be "correct" ways of doing the same thing, sometimes even dropin
replacements (I develop for IRIX as well). All it means is that you have
to port it rather then just recompile. The only exception to this is
where you've used some special SGI library not available under linux, and
you can't find equivalent functionality somewhere else.
2) Please contact the supplier of your glasses (and possibly even their
compeditors), and explain that you require linux drivers for their
equipment. The suppliers need to know there is a market for linux
drivers. If that fails post a request to slashdot, or one of the public
free software forums for information, no doubt you're not the first to
need 3D glasses support, and someone might have access to unofficial
support for a particular product line. This will also put further
pressure on the supplier to at least provide the specs. Once the specs
are avaliable, the driver can be written without too much trouble.
