well, the online date for that box is from when we took it down for an hour to 
do a prom upgrade. Three system boards, each requiring 4 proms. I did the last
board myself and the box still works ;)

I'd expect that not being able to online processor 0 would be somewhat of a
bad thing - while booting. However on solaris there's this nifty utility
called psradm which lets you "change processor operational status" - ie, lock
off processors from accepting any more tasks, and also make processors
uninterruptible by io devices. (Can't wait to get a chance to play with it on
an e10k starfire box).
