Personally I think you're better off with RH6 and an upgraded kernel.  You
don't need to upgrade nearly as many packages with RH6.  A bigger incentive
is that you want a 2.2.x kernel, and that requires an upgrade anyway on an
earlier version of RH.  Fortunately kernel upgrades aren't difficult.

Ideally you use Debian.  ;^)
