Hi Guys (on and Girls) this is FRANK BRAND in disguise in P-NG for a cuppla weeks.
This is a part of an e-mail I received from a very large organisation with the names changed to protect the innocent.Thought you might be interested.
I saw some very interesting stuff on Tuesday, my friend
who's one of the "box" guru's down at XXXXXX has run up a number of PC
running Linux Mandrake v6. He then ran up the Linux Metaframe client and
connected to the NT4 box. XXXXXXXX and the boys in sections were very
impressed, so impressed they immediately bought a number of the Mandrake
box sets.
In watching it run it is definitely quicker than the equivalent NT based
setup, as Linux inherently supported TCP-IP, the network based apps just
scream. Things like 3270 client, FTP, metaframe Client just hoot along.
He has been showing people left, right and centre, there is genuine interest
in running something up e.g. a "Thin Client" box.
