3.3.3.1 handles it without any trouble (I've got it running at
1280x1024x90Hz).
If you can't get your hands on 3.3.3.1, just using the 3.3.3.1
XF86_SVGA should work (at least that's how Debian suggested doing it).
I had some troubles setting it up initially. Some of the default
timings in XF86Config were screwy and caused my monitor a few
headaches, but now it's ok. I solved most of my problems by
commenting out the timings which I had no intention if using (ie
interlaced), and also the high frequency ones.
I found the video timing FAQ helpful (forget what it's called now)
when I was initially playing around with bumping the frequencies up to
where I wanted them.
