A couple of reasons. Partly because MS-Lookout is provided by the
employer, sometimes the company even has a policy that _only_ approved
software may be used (and we all know what they approve). A bigger
reason is because lots of offices use other features of MSES which only
MS clients can use. eg. shared folders, contact lists, shared
schedules, etc. I'm aware that there are alternative implementations of
all of the above, but when your network administrator only runs MSES
then you are stuck with MS clients.
Sure, I could use another mail client and only use MS-Lookout for the
other "features", but it's much less of a hassle to only run one
program.
BTW, if you want a better mail client than MS-Lookout then you can
always use "telnet mailhost.net.au 110". (Anyone know how to talk to
IMAP?)
Regards,
Paul
