[H-GEN] Mail problems

Hmmm... ok, I just noticed something while watching the output from the
sendmail log (using the -X option).  It seems that sendmail does not return
the 250 message to the MSES server until it has delivered the message to the
next server.

I just tried what you say - with normal smtp (HELO at the start) it accepts
the mail immediately.  With the esmtp (EHLO at the start) it waits forever
until it's delivered.  I also noticed a significant delay when entering the
recipients address (must have been checking something)

What do the RFC's say about the extensions to smtp? I can't see anything
obvious in the config file.

But definitely: If you disable esmtp your problems should disappear.  Is
there anything we really need that esmtp does?
