[H-GEN] Re: Internal Modem and Linux

I am interested in reducing the footprint on my desk by switching to an
internal modem. However, my investigations seem to suggest that internal
modems are generally not supported by Linux as they are quite often
"Winfax" modems.

Can anyone tell me:-

(1) Are internal modems supported by Linux?
(2) If so, are there any brands/models recommended?
(3) Which to avoid?
(4) Where can I get one?
