I'd be interested to see your layout actually, as my system is debian
also, and I have never run into problems with / being too small.

I always do periodic upgrades, so maybe this is why I have never run into
a problem. Interesting.

I agree here :) A full /var sucks much more than a full /usr :)

On any system with disk space limitations, I tend to go for 1 FS,but where
possible I will go for a scheme like the one I posted.
