Why don't you read the ppp- HOWTO. It discusses starting with a manual connection
using Minicom, dialing manually, exiting Minicom without resetting the modem etc.
But this is so complicated compared to a simple script. The HOWTO includes it all
anyway remember, as a last resort RTFM.
