[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and
Unix-related topics. ]

I know for most this won't be really significant. but i d'loaded and
installed the 2.2.11 kernal for redhat 6.0. now I figured my way thru
editing and then recompiling then copied the bzImage into /boot editted
lilo.conf so that i still had access to the old (2.2.5) kernel in case the
new one screwed up. now when ever it boots is comes up with a msg for some
that goes along the lines of Module has incorrect kernel version
NOW I have a caldera book that I was getting most of this info from.

method I used

make mrproper
make menuconfig
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install

then cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot
then a shutdown now -r

if I can't work it out before I will collar someone at the meeting this
saturday night
