I personally use a WebExcel V.90/kFlex external to all the UQ dialin
numbers with little fuss. Avoid like unto the plague all modems internal
(winmodem or not), as well as all KTX/Redback/Kookaburra or other
mystery brands.

Banksia and Netcomm are both brands with good quality control and
support. However, the guts of the beasties are really no different from
those in my WebExcel (you can even use Banskia firmware on a WebExcel
and vica versa [Don't do this if you want a valid warranty]) and they're
certainly more expensive.
