One good reason to try to fold this into the HOWTO (or create your own
mini-HOWTO) is that then at least people can _find_ the thing, rather
than trying to locate some random web page -- I hate to think how many
hits a search for "linux ppp ethernet" would get.

Yes, RedHat have a Bugzilla installation.  I think it's at
bugs.redhat.com, but I can't get there at the moment.
