To all concerned,

Whilst I do believe that Unix is much better than NT I think the unix
community sould take head of what Doug is saying. There is a point in all
of this. Yes Linux is a bother to understand for newbies to *nicies but
,as I have done, if people go through and take the time to read,
comprehend and act then the problems will usually be fixed. Of course I
guess you can imagine a small business that does not have a permanent
computer technician ( or whatever the job description is ). I don't think
that they would want to much around with something that takes a while to
fix. Time is money in business. From that point of view I can see how NT
has been very successful in that market. But I have also seen linux
become more user friendly as well and I believe this is a positive sign.
I know some people have labelled Red Hat 6.0 ( and clones ) as the NT of
linux ... perhaps that is why it is doing so well. Maybe the linux
community needs a brand that looks and feels like NT, but has unix under
the hood. This would certainly make it very popular in the wider
non-expert computer community. Certainly I do hope that this occurs
because frankly I think that :
		a)	The world deserves a "good" operating system
		b)	Linux kicks Windows Ass
		c)	Microsoft needs a really good kicking !

Anyway that's my two cents !

Alistair
