[H-GEN] accessing home areas of Linux box via Netatalk

Hi,

I am running Linux Redhat 5.1, and I have installed the
netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.0-5 rpm, which works great--I can see my network
volume via
a Guest account from a Mac on the network.

However, I'm having trouble accessing a user account, where a password is
required. I don't find the information in the afpd.conf very helpful in
this respect, and I figure it is just a configuration issue. I add the
following line to afpd.conf:

"User Volume" -noguest -nouservolume -setpassword -savepassword

and in AppleVolumes.default I added

<home directory path>/~

but I didn't add anything to AppleVolumes.system

When I try to connect to the network volume from a Mac, it just sits there
and times out before the connection "breaks unexpectedly".

Any ideas?

regards,

Laurence
