  Steve,
            Sorry to confuse you.  I have found if LILO is on the first hd  on
the scsi  bus then linux will
boot from that drive. For example, I have a scsi drives at ID1 and ID5.  In the
past,  I have wanted to
boot from ID5 so I disconnect  ID1 and boot from ID5. (ID1 -redhat  , ID5
-slackware).

So place LILO on the lowest number ID .
