[H-GEN] NIC Setup and Mounted Volumes too!

Still making great headway with my Anti Microcrud push, I actually have two issues I could use a hand with.

First up, I have a Red Hat 5.1 Distribution which is having problems finding the correct NIC settings when autoprobing an NE2000 compatible card on Startup. I'd really like to know what I could do to manually set it (config files, etc) and other devices under Linux when a Hardware change is made as I wasn't able to set it up correctly when I originally installed this distribution. this system still dual boots to WinCrap 98 where it works just fine. I can find a Wealth of info on setting up networking, routers, web servers, FTP servers, mail servers and stuff but had absolutely no joy finding a simple instruction on setting up a poxy network card.

the Next one will probably seem just as simple but again, I'm still coming to terms with an unfarmiliar (yet poweful, flexible and wonderfully Oh so NOT Microsux) environment. Another 5.1 installation has a problem where I added another drive and conceded a mountable Linux partition to the ever increasing Windork 95. I need to tell Linux to not attempt mounting the now Fat32 partition as an ex2fs, (Great complaints from the Kernel about an Error during mount and is it a Zero Length Partition or something and drops me to a maintenance shell without completing the environment initialisation). where will I find these configuration files for the boot environment and in fact any information on configuring hardware on startup.

Hey, I know, maybe someone knows of a Born Again Linux/Unix Users Guide for the NT MCSE and CNA/CNE, I'd kill for one ... anybody?
