[H-GEN] Samba and password case

Hi,

We are running Samba 1.9.18p7 on a RH 5.0 box.  We have win95 (OSR2)
clients with winsock2.  
The problem is that users who have passwords with mixed case can't log
in.
I have no "password level" or "protocol" lines in the smb.conf file.
I _thought_ samba would accept mixed case passwords in this situation.

Was I mistaken?
