Just following up my own post :- 6.22's edit program locks up if you have
faulty cache - good diagnostic tool.

Yes, that should work too. I think that I tried this (it was about 9
months ago that I came across this prob) and I think that the performance
of the board was so degraded that it wasn't worth it :( - but you might be
lucky.
