[H-GEN] two wee problems

Hello,
            Thanks for the time you guys put in to answering my "slow
script" problem.  I opted for the easy way out and kept my poor
overworked SGI up all night (12hrs later it finished).  I missed the
discussion on the other (?) mailing list, I didn't know it existed, so
sorry if I've posted to the wrong place.  The "100-150 lines of C"
comment  reminds me, I must dust off those couple of "C for Dummies"
books at the back of my desk (groan).
Two things I noticed on my home LINUX box last night.  1)Netscape M&D
seems to be running 2 hrs ahead of my system clock and 2)At login (as
user or su)the window manager starts to come up (cursor flashes) and
then freezes until I move my mouse, then its fine.
