Hello!

This question is basically about files that are run at start-up.
Firstly, i setup xdm3d to run but the 'shutdown' command is not recognised.
So, i need to set-up one of the startup files with /sbin in it's path. I
haven't done that yet but i think that won't be a problem.
However, when I use runlevel 3 to startup /sbin must be in the PATH
somewhere as i can access the 'shutdown' command. Now, I know that
/root/.bashrc, /etc/bashrc and /etc/profile are run, as is
/root/.bash_profile when rott logs in. What i would liketo know is which
file sets /sbin up in the path? i have grep'd the /root and /etc
directories looking for sbin, yet cannot find a PATH statement that includes
/sbin, so what is setting up my path with /sbin? any ideas would be
appreciated.

thanks,

adrian b.
