[H-GEN] amd

I mentioned this yesterday on #humbug and I was wondering if anyone
could help me please.

When amd starts on my machine (running RH5.1) it takes over a minute
to start. As a couple of people suggested yesterday, this is
probably due to a name server timeout. The thing is, I didn't have a
name server set up for that machine (I do now - but it's my ISP and
ppp doesn't start at boot so amd won't find it). I also haven't done
any fiddling with NFS, so I can't see why it would be looking for any
other computers on the network. In case it's relevant, the machine
does have a network card in it, but currently isn't connected to any
other machines, and didn't know about any other machines until ppp
was configured.

Anyway, I went looking through /etc/amd.conf and I found the
following:

/defaults fs:=${autodir}/${rhost}/root/${rfs};opts=nosuid,nodev
*       rhost:=${key};type:=host;rfs:=/

Unfortunately I con't see how this relates to the man/info pages for
amd.conf.

The problem isn't critical (amd _does_ finally start) but it is
really annoying.  Any suggestions?

TIA
Paul
