I've just downloaded an evaluation version of the NExS spreadsheet
(www.xess.com) for Linux.  It's very cool (as Motif spreadsheets go),
and at USD $49 I think I might go for it.  Reboots are for kernel 
upgrades and all that.

I see the American Bookstore in the city has a shelf devoted to 
pretty new RH and Applix boxes.  Cool.

Elec-eng type geeks might like to check out the ballot on free-Unix 
VLSI design tools currently linked to by slashdot.org.  Guess what type
of OS most engineers would rather work on?  There's a particularly 
nice post from a guy who's used to running forty windows on his Sparc,
with some of them using 2GB (!) of memory.  NT didn't cope very well. ;)
