"Learning Perl" and "Programming Perl" by O'Reilly are both worth getting.
If you are doing CGI stuff or any web based stuff then "Teach yourself CGI
Programming with Perl 5" may be worth a look, it's in the QUT bookstore and
all should be at McGills in Elizabeth street.
