If anyone is interested, I've decided on what SBC to use for the
wearable prototype: a embedded-controller lecturer in Wollongong has a
68HC11-based board for (non-profit) sale @ ~$110 apiece (in kit form,
specs at http://pm.cse.rmit.edu.au/~f1/)
