[H-GEN] 286 Motherboard (sans frivolity)

Frank,

There used to be a program around to change the refresh timing on an XT.
In theory it was intended to speed the machine up; what -usuallly-
resulted was that:
a) the machine ran slower due to non-optimal settings
b) the clock did wonderful things
c) if the refresh setting was particularly uncouth, the machine would
report a Memory Parity error. (not permanently, just while this TSR ran).

My point here being, is it the ISA slots that are to run slow, or just the
execution of the software?

If it's just the software, I might be able to find this prog (my XT still
works, or at least last time I checked) and this may help you (unless the
clock is mandatory).

If it's the ISA slots, I'll chase a few contacts for their 286's.

Cheers,
David
