Hi all,
Macmillan Computer Publishing are wanting to put out a book called "SAMS
Teach Yourself Samba in 24 Hours". Plugged In was going to write ahlf
(12 chapters), but bagged out due to bigger fish.
Macmillan is now looking for either lead or contributing authors; if any
of you are interested, here's the deal:
- Lead authors get "front cover" credit and royalties, but have to write
a lot;
- Contributing authors get "inside credit" and a small up-front fee but
can write as little as a chapter;
- There is currently one lead author, Jerry Carter at Auburn Uni, who
will be writing the other 12 chapters;
- The Macmillan contact is Gretchen Ganser (mailto:gganser at mcp.com).
You should contact her directly if you are interested.
=> Please don't bother Gretchen unless (a) you are serious and (b) you
know enough about Samba to write fast. They want to complete all
chapters by the end of January.
The current table of contents is given below. The chapters marked "JC"
are the ones being written by Jerry, the others are up for grabs.

Something to note: A running NT system will allow you to delete
the kernel, but file-locks the WingDings font. Is that evil or
just silly?
