I have not actually seen that they are but I suspect you could be right.
They should be starting to appear on boards now as they are up to their
third revision Via Apollo VP3 is the latest version as I understand.

The only boards I knew had these chips were FIC and Shuttle but it would
not surprise if they began to appear in larger numbers - especially in the
Taiwanese/Hong Kong/Chinese boards as AMD seems to have some good
connections in that part of the world. The chips are made in Taiwan and
have been rebranded as AMD 640's so presumably will work reasonably well
with the AMD K6 chips
