Standing in the petrol station before (no, I'm not still driving :), I
noticed the front page of todays "Australian Fiancial Review". There down
the bottom was a story in brief about WorldCom's hostile takeover bid of
MCI for a cool $30 billion US.

If I understood a story a few weeks back, WorldCom sold Compuserve to AOL,
in exchange for some big bikkies and AOL's ANS (network services
department). Combine ANS and MCI, and you have the worlds largest data
communications company that effectively controls over 10 million peoples
internet connections, plus countless others whos traffic travels over MCI.

Has anyone else heard any more on this, or have I gotten it all fuddled
up?
