Dear Colleagues,


We are currently looking for suitable persons  (2-4) with a PhD (or nearing 
completion) in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering 
(but with strong computing interests)  with/without experience for the 
position of  Research Scientist (about $45-55K plus super, etc, --  a higher 
start can be considered for an appropriately qualified candidate).    The 
primary areas of current interest are: expert systems, applied formal 
theory/logic, multimedia analysis tools and pattern recognition. He/she 
should be enthusiastic and willing to work on Defence projects with minimal 
guidance.  He/she must be willing to work as a team member.

If you have any suitable student or know of someone suitable, could you 
please encourage them to forward their resume and other relevant details to 
me at the earliest.  A formal advertisement has appeared in leading 
newspapers and in the Government Gazette.  A last date is quoted in the 
advertisement, but we will still consider late applications.

Australian citizenship (or pending application) is required.
