[H-GEN] PPP Now works

Well, I will now admit to being a bit of an idiot.  Those who know me 
personally could probably attest to this.
My recent problems with ppp are now fixed.  After doing a complete 
re-install of Linux and finding that it STILL didn't work, I went through 
all my settings again.  It seems that I had both hardware AND software 
handshaking enabled on the modem, which of course stopped data from my PC 
being accepted by the modem after a VERY short time frame following the ppp 
initialisation ( or something like that anyway, might have been the other 
way around).

Too bad I had to hose all my configurations to find this out.  Oh well, at 
least I learnt something....

I am curious, however, to understand how it ever worked in the first 
place.... I really had not changed ANY settings at all and it HAD been 
working fine for several months.  Very wierd.
