You read it correctly, It was going to burn your data with no recovery
possible. MS does not do it the way it did several years ago where if NT
found OS2 it started to reformat the drive/drives then when it was too
late to switch off, it informed the sucker that it found OS2 and is
reformating the drive. This resulted in bloody and heated interstellar
court battles. However, MS got out of it by pointing out that it says in
the text somewhere (probably needed the famous babel fish to translate)
to make backups.
