Annoucing the formation of the HUMBUG Developers SIG.

DSIG will aim to provide focused support for Linux/Unix/OSS Developers in
Brisbane.  

We expect DSIG to provide a forum for

- demonstrations and discussions on members current/past development work.

- The sharing of insights and knowledge of different languages, libraries,
tools, and other technologies.

- Mentoring and support of students, graduates, and anyone else interested
in pursuing a career in Unix software (and hardware) development.

- Colaboration in Open Source software development.

There will be an informal preliminary meeting of the SIG at the next
Humbug meeting (2nd Sept) to discuss charter and the structure, content,
and timing of the SIG's future meetings.  I hope to have the first
official meeting of DSIG at the Sept 30 meeting (I expect the AGM is
slated for the 16th?).

In the interim I will be the DSIG convenor so any comments, expressions of
interest, ideas, or suggestions can either be emailed to me at
andrae at humbug.org.au or to H-GEN.  I will attempt to summarise to the list
emails sent to me unless requested otherwise.
