Hi guys, 
Below is an email that I got from Brian who I've asked to give me a quote for our insurance. This isn't the quote. This is just him strongly suggesting that we get better cover against copyright infringement. He rang me up earlier today to stress the same point.

Hi Matthew 

I refer to our earlier discussion and confirm we have to hand an office risk quotation for Humbug Computer Club. 

Whilst you confirmed you are interested in only an office risk quote I confirm my advice that considering the business of the club you have a number of other exposures for which you should consider obtaining insurance to address these exposures should someone issue legal proceedings against you: - 

    • IT Public and Products Liability including Errors and Omissions cover, Member to member cover and Participation risk. Plus there are a number of other exposures to consider 
    • Professional Indemnity Insurance 
    • Directors and Officers insurance 


Whilst you advised you don't wish me to obtain quotes in this regard because you have procedures in place to ensure your members and customers don't infringe IT procedures such as breaching copyrights, impacting website, providing misleading information, publicity/marketing issues, training issues, Directors responsibilities, failure to deliver and the like you could still get caught up in having to defend yourself should someone issue against you. 

I stress our Public/Products Liability quote is a cover to protect your club from it's simple office duty exposures and is far from the covers I recommended you consider for your club. 

Please let me know how you wish us to proceed.
