Hi Mark,
All that I think Russell was saying is that the rest of the Exec and the people on the Admin list didn't get notified that you were not going to attend the Exec meeting. Which you are obligated to do. You should have stated in your email that you were sorry that the email hadn't been sent properly and that you do appologise for your mistaken belief that you had. This you didn't do.

I would also point out that you had plenty of opportunity to attend the Exec meeting. I gave you clear notice that you were free to go to the Exec meeting but you said your presence at the volunteer training session was more important. You also had access to your emails and I had told you that I didn't see any email from you stating that you might be late for the Exec meeting. So any excuse that you didn't know that the email hadn't gone through is crap.

You turned up late for the volunteer meeting even though it was clearly stated that the meeting was starting at 9am. You had plenty of notification of this as well as plenty of opportunity to ask for a lift from me so that you could attend on time. This you didn't do. Instead you rocked up in the middle of the session. Well and truly after I had setup and explained the system to the volunteers. Your presence at the volunteer meeting wasn't necessary as you yourself proved by not showing up on time. You are mine and Charles's backup for lca so I need you to be on the ball.

As to the issues with the way Russell handled the Exec meeting. He had two proxies in the room. Q for Stephen and Clinton for myself. He also had your okay to start the meeting without him. As you say Russell rang you up asking about where you were and when you were due. If you felt that Russell should have waited to start the meeting then you should have asked him to wait till you arrived. At that point you should have given him an approx ETA. You should have also at that point made clear efforts to get to the Exec meeting. You did neither.

The fact that we arrived 20min after was more due to the volunteer meeting shutting down then your intention to be at the Exec meeting. So how could Russell know that you were only going to be 20min late for the Exec meeting? My leaving the meeting had nothing to do with you not arriving on time. You could have made your own way there as you have stated many times in the past.

Mark you should have made an effort to be at the meeting or provided proper notice that you weren't. An email sent well and truly after the meeting is not good enough. The least that you should have done is apologise for the email being sent well and truly late. Russell has every right to expect at least that and for that matter so does the rest of the Exec.

Matt

Hi Russell,

Are you accusing me of sending this email after the meeting in some
attempt to pretend I notified people of my situation on the day? What
happened was I sent this email from my phone. Now I thought it had been
sent but it looks like it must of been queuing somewhere, that's all.

The report is sitting on my computer and I will fix this situation ASAP.
I apologize for any delay. No need to remind me of the obligations to
the membership for the right to know financial information. As a member
myself, I would like to see such information as available as well. It
was you who started the meeting without Matt and Myself. I did ask about
about where the minutes were on the wiki just before you started via the
phone call we had and was told they would be started by you, so unless I
sent them via email there was no way to get my report there before the
meeting.

I also take issue you could not wait 20 minutes given our (Matt and
myself) circumstances to allow all Exec members able to attend to do so,
given how the weather was that day and the fact the LCA training session
ran a bit overtime. I highlight the fact the according to section 4,
part a, clause ii of the HUMBUG constitution, you need at least 3 Exec
members present to have an Exec meeting, which we clearly didn't. From
how I read this, proxies do not count as a present member.

Given it seems we are calling shots on responsibilities, I'd like you
remind you of your obligations under the constitution to properly
convene Exec meetings in accordance to it. In this case you have failed
in as much as I have not made my report in a timely fashion.

I'll take note of bringing the statements and will do so for future
meetings.

This email you wrote is coming across to me as accusing and rude. Now I
know you and do know you have a habit of doing this when you make
assuptions, so I'll ignore it.

Cheers,
Mark.
